Wildlife Photography in the Great Bear RainforestFew places on earth will provide you with as many photo ops as the Great Bear Rainforest. Even fewer places will provide you with the excitement that you will feel on a river estuary with Grizzly Bears or watching a Spirit Bear fish for salmon, or on a remote island with Coastal Wolves! All of our wildlife viewing and photography tours are planned around seasonal events. In spring time, the bears are coming out of hibernation, to the river estuaries to feast on the protein rich sedge grasses and early salmon berries. The mountain peaks of the Coastal Range are still blanketed snow and river estuaries are carpeted in wildflowers and teeming with new life.. all perfect backdrops for photos of Grizzly Bears who often with cubs in tow. In late summer and fall, the wild Pacific salmon are returning to the streams and rivers of their birth, and attracting bears, wolves, and birds. August and September are the best time of year to see and photograph the very rare Spirit Bear. While we are not offering any wildlife photography specific workshops in 2024, all of our trips in the Great Bear Rainforest offer some of the best photo ops for wildlife, anywhere in the world.
