Private Charter Cruises & Boat Trips from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Custom, Private Boat Charters, and Adventure Cruises aboard the 54-ft motor yacht Great Bear II
Private or Group Boat Charters-Ocean adventures on B.C.'s West Coast.
PRIVATE BOAT CHARTERS FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS AND FILMMAKERS
Our ships have been used as a home and platform to amateur and professional photographers and film-makers. Many have joined us on B.C.'s central and north coasts, in the Great Bear Rainforest, to photograph and film Spirit Bears, Grizzly Bears, Wolves and Whales.
International film producers have travelled with us, such as "Ushuaia Nature" for "L'Esprit de la Foret", (viewed by 8 million people in Europe). Even Hollywood producers have used our ship for a movie starring Kurt Russell and Courtney Cox!
The British film crew from Image Impact, led by the renowned adventurer, filmmaker and naturalist Nigel Marven, traveled with us for 9 days. While filming, the group was led by fully certified, professional bear guides, Eric Boyum and Doug Neasloss.
Some photographers join scheduled trips, but for those that have a strong focus and a certain time line, a private custom trip offers them a trip geared just to their interests and agenda.
We SPECIALIZE in Small Group Charters, of 2-5 guests on scheduled trips. With fewer guests onboard and an itinerary based on wildlife sightings and your interests, a Custom/Private Charter Cruise could be best for getting the shots you want.
Our professional, fully certified bear guides ensure unparalleled wildlife viewing while maintaining the safety of our small groups.
More recently, several well-known photographers from Europe, the USA, and Canada are bringing their own private photo tours to travel with us. If you would like more information on these special photo tours and how you can join one of their trips, please contact us.

If you are looking for Whale Watching on the South Coast, we recommend that you contact Prince of Whales Whale Watching or Stubbs Whale Watching.
Call or email us
with dates you have in mind and ideas for where and what you'd like to experience and we'll help you plan the private custom cruise of a lifetime for you, your family or friends!
We specialize in small group charters with a maximum of 8 guests on day trips and a maximum of 5 guests on scheduled overnight cruises. On Private (Custom) charters, in certain circumstances, we may be able to accommodate 5 on overnight cruises.
Small groups ensure more privacy and personalized service for our guests, and, less impact on the environment and the wildlife we visit, something that is extremely important to us.
FOR ARTISTS

Spring in the Great Bear Rainforest is the perfect time and place for landscape artists!
The mountain peaks of the Coastal Range are still draped in snow, providing a sharp contrast against the azure skies in May and June.
The polished granite walls of Fiordland are laced with waterfalls that seem to fall from the sky.
River estuaries are carpeted in wildflowers and teeming with new life.
Join us... and discover how "you're connected with everything."
BIRD WATCHING / PHOTOGRAPHY TOURS
Spring (May / June) is the perfect time of year to join us in the Great Bear Rainforest for Bird Watching and Photography. The many species of birds that come to the river estuaries at this time of year, to breed, nest and raise their young are sure to impress you.
There is nothing like the sight of baby Mergansers riding on the back of their mother, or trying to photograph the elusive, red-listed Marbled Murrelet as they dive for their dinner., or the beautiful plumage and haunting calls of Common Loons.
If seeing and photographing birds in their mating plumage interests you, then the colourful Harlequin Ducks will definitely catch your eye.
Whether listening to the symphony of songbirds as we float down lazy rivers or hearing the beat of Bald Eagles' wings as they take off from their perch above us, or the shrill cry of a Belted Kingfisher as he scolds us from his perch, you will come to understand why spring in the Great Bear Rainforest is the best time for bird watching and photography enthusiasts to join us.
